Are you an ambitious Chef de Partie looking for a new job opportunity? We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Chef de Partie to join our pre-opening kitchen team! As a Chef de Parti, your main responsibility will be to amaze our guests with your culinary creations by following chef's recipes and directions. Your work will have a huge impact on building our guest loyalty.

Inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine and co-created by nhow Amsterdam, the new-to-open restaurant Selva is located on the 24th floor of nhow Amsterdam, a rooftop restaurant with 150 seats overlooking the city of Amsterdam. Together with the kitchen team, the culinary creations, complemented by the amazing views, you will create the nhow experiences our guests hope for.

What are you going to do?
As Selva is inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine, it is important that our culinary brigade uses traditional and cutting-edge techniques along with seasonal and honest ingredients. At Selva, we will be using a charcoal grill to offer different taste profiles in our menu.
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for overseeing a particular section of the kitchen.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Plan and execute menus in collaboration with other colleagues
  • Always ensure the adequacy of supplies
  • Place orders in a timely manner
  • Manage ingredients that should be frequently available on a daily basis
  • Follow the directions of the kitchen chef and sous chef
  • Develop the junior kitchen team
  • Suggest new ways of presentation of dishes
  • Give attention to the productivity of the kitchen such as speed and food quality
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and hygiene standards

Apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Chef de Partie role or as independently working chef
  • Experience with Latin American cuisine and cooking with charcoal grills is an advantage
  • Ability to use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, tools and processes
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Great time management skills
  • Good level of verbal and written communication in English language
  • Knowledge of the latest cooking practices
  • Culinary school diploma is advantage
