nhow Amsterdam RAI is a social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travelers, and Amsterdam locals. The iconic building, facing the various wind directions, symbolizes the melting pot the city of Amsterdam has always been and continues to be. The impressive 91-metre-tall building is in the Zuidas district, right next to the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, offering its guests a dynamic headquarters and home base.

For this iconic social hub, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Junior Sous Chef who is ready to take part in this large dynamic design hotel. The kitchen is on the 17th floor and with its unique location and view, is one of the highest professional kitchens in Amsterdam. The kitchen services the breakfast buffet of up to 700 covers, the room service, all day bar menu, and the banqueting. The kitchen team consists of the Executive Head Chef, the Executive Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef breakfast, Junior Sous Chef banqueting, and a brigade of Chef de Parties, Commis and Stewards. The core team has 15 members that are supported by the pool of flex-chefs.

What are you going to do?

As Junior Sous Chef in the Banqueting, you are the driving force behind the culinary experience of our guest in one of our 10 meeting rooms. You know how to get the best out of your team members, and you ensure good planning and execution of lunches, morning and afternoon breaks as well as sit-down and walking dinners. Aside of that, you will support the Executive Head Chef and the Sous Chef with various projects to improve processes. You come up with changes to the banqueting menu, update recipes and make food calculations. You assist the Executive (Sous) Chef with activities such as scheduling, complying with and checking hygiene procedures, managing the kitchen stock, and placing orders.
