nhow Amsterdam RAI is the social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travellers, and Amsterdam locals. The iconic building, facing the various wind directions, symbolizes the melting pot the city of Amsterdam has always been and continues to be. The impressive 91-metre-tall building is located in the Zuidas district, right next to the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, offering its guests a dynamic headquarters and home base.

For this iconic social hub, we are looking for a catalyst with an inquisitive personality, who is ready to take part in a dynamic design hotel. Every chain of events starts with you, the catalyst. You create the perfect mix of different elements that crafts an amazing outcome for our guests.

 

What's in it for us?

  • You must have worked in a hotel and you must have experience working in the Front Office department;
  • You naturally pro-active, daring to take the lead and make decisions;
  • Keeping an overview in hectic situations is easy for you. You remain calm and you know the difference between main and side issues. You know how to set priorities;
  • You are flexible and you gain energy from the contact with guests and colleagues, especially in a large team you feel good;
  • You have an excellent command of the English language, both in terms of speaking and writing. Dutch is an advantage;
  • You like varied work, with varying working hours and peak moments where you and your colleagues are ready to shine.

 

What are you going to do?

  • You are all over the place. You know the ins and outs of the hotel; you know your colleagues and your guests.
  • You are responsible for daily operations when the Management Team is not in the hotel.
  • You are the go-to person for every guest. For a fun conversation, but also in regard to problems or complaints. You don't just listen, you care, you act, and you turn the experience around for 180 degrees.
  • You are always looking for improvements to increase the service level of the hotel. Not in a traditional way, but always in the nhow way!
  • You are the main contact person for events and groups in the hotel
  • When it comes "safety" within the hotel, the Duty Manager takes a responsible and important role. You are directing all colleagues and guests in the hotel in case of an emergency. Next to that you will also communicate with external partners.
